Just Digits!?!?

In the following article about telcom corporations turning over records of all our phone calls to NSA, a White House "official" is quoted as insisting "It's just digits." Well our credit card and social security numbers are "just digits." Our bank statements are "just digits." In this digital age everything we want to keep private is "just digits." The White House "official" who implied we shouldn't be alarmed about NSA having all our phone called numbers because they're "just digits" is just nuts.
